2002’de İTÜ Jeoloji Mühendisliği’nden mezun oldum. 2003–2006 arasında bir yıl ABD’de yaşadım, bir yıl Bakü’de jeoloji mühendisi olarak çalıştım. 2006’da İTÜ-Avrasya Yer Bilimleri Enstitüsü’nde yüksek lisansımı tamamlayıp Prof. Dr. Aral Okay danışmanlığında doktoraya başladım; araştırma görevlisi olarak ders asistanlıkları yaptım ve Armutlu Yarımadası doğusunda Pontid-İçi Kenedi’nin evrimi ile KAFZ’nin Doğu Marmara’daki gelişimine odaklandım. İzotopik yaş çalışmalarını DAAD bursuyla Tübingen Üniversitesi’nde Prof. Dr. Muharrem Satır danışmanlığında yürüttüm; XRF numune hazırlama uygulamalarında asistanlık yaptım. 2012 Kasım ayında Maden Tetkik ve Arama Genel Müdürlüğünde çalışmaya başladım: Doğu Karadeniz’de Doğu Pontid'lerin jeolojik evrimi (2012-30-14-01-3) ve “Türkiye’nin Kabuk Kalınlığı” (2014-30-14-04) projelerinde yer aldım; manyetotellürik ve gravite içeren arazi çalışmalarına katıldım. 2014’te MTA Deniz ve Çevre Araştırmaları Dairesi’nde, 2015–2017’de KAF’ın GD Marmara’daki tektonik tarihine yönelik sismik ve manyetik verilerle çalıştım; Schlumberger Petrel programının temel, kuyu korelasyonu ve modelleme sertifikaları aldım. 2017–2018 arasında Maden Etütleri Dairesi’nde İspir’de polimetalik saha haritaladım ve Güneydoğu-Doğu Anadolu akarsu jeokimyasını çalıştım; Mart 2018’de Bingöl Üniversitesi’ne atandım.

Güncel çalışmalarım iki ana konuya odaklanıyor: (1) denizel ve karasal alanlardaki tektonik kuşakların kinematik ve jeokronolojik evrimi ve (2) tektonik olarak aktif bölgelerin sahaya sismik tehlike analizleri. Jeomorfolojik, jeolojik ve yapısal haritalama; krono-litostratigrafik kesit ölçümleri; izotopik/paleontolojik yaşlandırma; ve aktif/pasif sismolojik yöntemleri (örn. sismik yansıma, MASW, mikrotremor ölçümleri) kullanıyorum. Tüm bu yöntemlerden elde edilen verileri Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri’nin dijital ortamında yorumluyorum. Doğu Akdeniz’deki Tetis’in eski dalma-batma zonları ile Kuzey ve Doğu Anadolu Fay Zonları gibi etkin levha sınırlarının denizaltı ve karasal kesimlerinde kapsamlı arazi deneyimine ve bilimsel birikime sahibim. Farklı araştırma gruplarıyla çalışmayı ve işbirliği yaparak jeolojik sorunlara çözümler geliştirmeyi, ayrıca bilimsel çalışmalarım sırasında edindiğim deneyimleri öğrencilere ve genç bilim insanlarına aktarmak istiyorum.
