RESEARCH

My research is based on metabolism engineering via synthetic biology applications. We are mostly interested in constructing microbial cell factories for certain purposes. Have a look at the following papers if you are interested in the topic. Synthetic biology includes four steps: Design, Build, Test and Learn.

System Biology 1/2  and Synthetic Biology 1

The importance of synthetic biology

A sustainable world is possible if all required components can be supplied in an easy, cheap and healthy way. Researchers are working on several approaches to achieve sustainable goals covering all technically, pharmaceutically or medically relevant products. Synthetic production of these compounds in non-native hosts, e.g. bacteria or yeasts, can provide economic and ecological advantages.

System and synthetic biology are important approaches to developing sustainable next-generation biotechnology at the global level. Our country/region is not free from this situation. The system biology approach is suggesting a deep understanding of the whole system instead of individual sub-parts. Thus, it is easy to handle any trouble related to the system and also manipulate it for a certain purpose. The success of synthetic biology strategies is strongly associated with system biology due to applying regard to data collected by system biology approaches.
