               Prof. Dr. Veysel Turan launched his distinguished academic career by graduating with highest honors from Harran University's Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Engineering. His pursuit of excellence led him to Austria's prestigious University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) for master's studies. He then commenced doctoral research at Germany's renowned University of Hohenheim while conducting advanced studies at the Helmholtz Zentrum München - German Research Center for Environmental Health. He successfully completed his Ph.D. degree at Atatürk University, marking a significant milestone in his academic progression.

                Prof. Dr. Veysel Turan has achieved a remarkable academic milestone by being ranked within the top 2% of the world's most influential scientists in the 2024 assessments conducted by Stanford University and Elsevier. In the same study, he was ranked 18th among all scientists in Türkiye and first among faculty members in agricultural sciences in Türkiye. As an indicator of his outstanding academic performance, Prof. Dr. Turan boasts an h-index of over 40 and more than 5,500 citations. Notably, 81% of his publications have appeared in Q1 journals, which are recognized as the highest tier in terms of academic impact and quality.

                As a principal investigator, Prof. Turan has spearheaded numerous groundbreaking research initiatives. Most notably, he led the innovative TÜRKİYE-PAKISTAN (PAKTURK) collaborative project titled "Sorghum as a Bioenergy Crop Coupled with Chromium-Reducing Bacteria and Organic Acids for the Remediation of Chromium-Contaminated Soil in Pakistan and Turkey: An Innovative and Eco-Friendly Approach." His TÜBİTAK-funded projects include the development of bioremediation methods for microplastic pollution in soils ( TUBITAK 1001 Project No: 123Y017) and the establishment of the Sustainable Agricultural Technologies Platform (S-ATP) for climate-resilient farming in Türkiye ( TUBITAK 1004 Project No: 23AG017)

                Prof. Turan serves as an editor and academic advisor for high-impact SCI/SCIE-indexed journals, including Critical Reviews in Environmental Science and Technology (2024 Impact Factor: 13.2), Water, Air and Soil Pollution, Environment, Development and Sustainability, Ecological Processes, Arabian Journal of Geosciences, Waste Management Bulletin, Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety, and Soil and Environmental Health. 

                  His peer review and editorial activities in over 150 Web of Science-indexed journals have been honored with prestigious awards from leading publishers such as Elsevier, Springer Nature, and Taylor & Francis, recognizing the exceptional quality of his academic contributions. Among these accolades are the 'Excellence in Review Award', 'Best Reviewer Award', 'Excellence in Editorial Board Member Award', 'Top Cited Article Award', 'Most Cited Article Award', and 'Editorial Contribution Award'.

                Prof. Dr. Turan holds significant leadership roles in international academia, particularly in conference organization and scientific publishing. As an invited speaker at the 2023 International Conference on Food Chemistry (organized by Elsevier), he shared cutting-edge advancements in his field. He further contributed as Publication Co-Chair at the *2024 Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Environmental Integration* (Marrakech, Morocco), playing a key role in shaping the conference’s scientific content. With a strong presence in major scientific platforms across the Mediterranean region, Prof. Dr. Turan has served as Proceedings Editor for the 2024 Mediterranean Life Sciences Congress (Istanbul), the *2022–2023 Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Environmental Integration*, and the 2020–2023 Mediterranean Geosciences Union Annual Meetings, while also undertaking Technical Committee Membership in 2023. Currently, he continues to enhance the quality of academic publications as Proceedings Editor for the 2024–2025 Mediterranean Life Sciences Congresses (Istanbul and Italy) and the Arabian Journal of Geosciences Conference, reinforcing his commitment to advancing scholarly excellence.

                Prof. Dr. Turan has significantly advanced his scientific career through prestigious international research fellowships and academic grants. His scholarly work has been supported by research grants from Turkey's Council of Higher Education (YÖK), including a Master's research fellowship in Austria (2010), doctoral fellowships in Germany (2011-2012), and additional doctoral research funding in Germany (2013-2014). As a recipient of TÜBİTAK's prestigious 2219 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, he conducted groundbreaking research in Austria during 2017-2018. His academic excellence was further recognized by Germany's renowned DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), which awarded him the "Research Stays for University Academics and Scientists" fellowship in 2021-2022, enabling him to serve as a Visiting Scholar at leading German institutions.

                Prof. Turan is fluent in advanced English and German, enabling effective international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
